One Victoria is a residential development situated in the heart of Manchester, designed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality, city-centre living. The Mirable Street block will stand at 10 storeys, while the adjacent structure on Great Ducie Street will feature a stepped design, with heights ranging from 10 to 14 storeys. A crucial aspect of the project was implementing a robust fire safety system. Base, a specialist contractor, was engaged to design, supply, and install a BS9251:2021 Category 4 sprinkler system, specifically tailored to meet the safety requirements of the development. This system is fed from the building’s boosted cold water supply, ensuring reliable water flow and pressure to both buildings. From the initial stages, Base collaborated closely with the design team to address fire safety challenges and integrate the sprinkler system seamlessly into the building infrastructure while adhering to regulatory standards.
